After childhood in Inner Mongolia, I went to Tsinghua University in Beijing, where I got a B.S. (2005) from department of computer science and technology and a M.S. (2007) from department of mathematical sciences. From 2006 to 2009, I discontinuously worked in IBM Research (China) as a part-time contractor and Chinese University of Hong Kong as a research assistant. From 2010 to 2015, I did a PhD in computer science in Département d’informatique (Department of Computer Science), Université de Genève in Geneva under the supervision of Prof. Stéphane Marchand-Maillet. The title of my dissertation is “Information geometry and data manifold representations”. From 2016 to 2017, I was a postdoc in École Polytechnique in Paris and then in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). At the end of 2017, I joined Data61 in Sydney as a machine learning researcher. Since 2021, I am also a Honorary senior lecturer in the Australian National University.

In 2017, I received the “Prix de l’excellence de l’UNIGE” from University of Geneva.
